Sau Bay, Fiji
The Fijian Islands have always been a favorite travel and diving destination for Eric and Ann. Taveuni has especially been top on the list. Two years ago, after the Solomon Island Adventure, a small group joined us in visiting a new property, Sau Bay. Carol and Nigel Douglas welcome their guests to their small 6 cottage resort (only 12 guests). Tucked away on a quite lagoon sitting across from the Somasoma Straits, it seems like you are the only one on the planet. Diving the Rainbow Reef has been described by one client, as the most colorful diving she ever experienced. Diving is a bit different in Fiji as it is done at the proper time of the incoming or outgoing tides so that the corals are open and feeding and at their most colorful. The Great White Wall is one of the world’s most unique and beautiful dive locations and the staff tries to plan the dive to maximize the display of the blue/white corals that give the wall its name. Photography ranges from incredible macro of nudi, coral, tunicates, to wide angle of giant sea fans and walls of soft coral. The resort is simple but beautiful. For those who are a fan of our Pure Fiji products, you will be happy to know the amenities in the rooms are all Pure Fiji. Food is fresh, abundant and a variety of local favorites and international cuisine.
Besides a wonderfully restful, unique cultural experience besides awesome diving. Oceanic Ventures Foundation has supported the school in the past with scholarships for village children whose parents cannot afford the tuition, uniforms or books. We also have options to visit nearby villages with cultures from various areas near Fiji.
A trip to Taveuni is not complete without a visit to one of the many waterfalls on the island. Optional day trip will be arranged for the group to have a chance to see some of the undeveloped parts of the islands and many waterfalls, some of which can only be reached by boat.

As with most small island properties, cancellations are more of an issue so they have limited ability to fill unused spaces. We always recommend trip insurance to help avoid any unnecessary problems. There are no refunds for missed flights or changes in plans. Travel Insurance (ie: comprehensive accident, medical, baggage and trip cancellation and interruption insurance) purchased at the time their reservation is made, may help protect guests from financial disappointment if they are prevented from making their scheduled trip due to illness or family illness, or in the event that unforeseen circumstances prevent the airline or yacht from making its scheduled trip.
We require diving accident insurance. For your convenience below are links to Dive Assure . Both organizations offer Travel Insurance and Dive Accident Insurance and be purchased via our web site at https://oceanicventures.com/travel-insurance/. Both Dive Assure and Travel Guard have a family plan. Dive Assure is diving insurance and also has a travel insurance option.
