Perfect Buoyancy Specialty
Imagine Floating Effortlessly…
When you want to increase your buoyancy control, minimize your breathing gas consumption, or move effortlessly above the ocean floor? The SSI Perfect Buoyancy program teaches you the skills and techniques needed to maximize your dive experience, increase your comfort in the water, and get the most from your equipment. You will earn the SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty certification.
Conveniently located inside the 610 Loop, Oceanic Ventures is the perfect place to train and prepare for your next adventure!.
To enroll in this program, you only need your Open Water or Junior Open Water Certification.
When is this program taught? | Generally, you will find this program available on the first Saturday and Sunday of the month. We can also arrange classes on a private schedule to meet your needs. |
What is the schedule for the program? | We start in the morning with a classroom session discussing the factors that affect your buoyancy and trim in the water and methods to improve your trim. After a lunch break, we move over to the pool where you will learn to apply what you learned in the classroom session. Your instructor will be on hand to help you determine your optimal weight underwater and where to place it to improve your trim. Your instructor will also help you learn to move more effectively through the water with your equipment. Then on Sunday, we move to an Open Water Lake location so you can put everything in practice and refine your skills. |
Who will benefit most from this program? | All divers can benefit from effective buoyancy control, trim, and swimming techniques no matter the level. This is a great program to take after your Open Water Diver class especially of you have a few dives “under your belt.” |
What Equipment do I need? | Since this is a diving program, you will need your total diving system. While it is always better to own your own equipment so you can learn to trim it perfectly, you may rent an air delivery system, a buoyancy control device, cylinders, and weights. |
