Scuba Diving Around Texas

Scuba Diving in Texas
“Sometimes it is just a bar BQ interrupted by diving… (Eric Keibler)

There are some really cool scuba diving spots in Texas, and then there are some that are beautiful BBQ spots with water, but no matter, you are still out for a fun day of diving and socializing.  The Dive Around Texas challenges divers to get out and explore the great diving Texas has to offer. Texas is blessed with over 30 different incredible dive spots, including rivers, quarries, lakes, and the Gulf of Mexico. It is our hope that you will find new dive locations and get out to dive more.

What is the Dive Around Texas, Oceanic Ventures Style?

Our goal is to help people get out and go diving.  To that end, we restarted the Dive Around Texas for 2026 and have scheduled some fun, staff-led dives throughout the year.  By joining the Dive Around Texas, you are invited to two barbecues at Oceanic Ventures, invitations to the diving events, and become eligible for fun prizes.

What do I have to do?

The first thing is to sign up for the Dive Around Texas.  Then you need to complete at least 12 dives at 4 different locations in Texas.  You will need to log your dives preferably in the SSI app and have them verified by your Dive Leader or a store staff member.  Each dive is one entry into the contest.

What are the scheduled events?
