Dive, Travel & Adventure Insurance Programs

None of us plans things to interrupt our vacations or our plans for some time away but sometimes things happen.
For this reason, Oceanic Ventures has identified some excellent insurance programs for divers.
These programs are divided by their function and what types of expenses they cover.
Diving Accident (Domestic & International) and Travel Insurance
The DiveAssure association offers the diving community the best diving accident and dive-travel programs, including the Diamond – the only comprehensive dive-travel program available in the United States. As an established leader in diving accident medical coverage and travel protection, DiveAssure is dedicated to providing the best care for its members. All DiveAssure programs are primary and include 24/7 travel and medical emergency assistance services.<
DiveAssure offers coverage for certified divers coverage for diving domestically as well as for your vacations outside of the United States with a variety of programs designed to meet their needs.
This coverage is similar to the DAN insurance coverage but with more features.
Diving Accident (Domestic & International) Insurance
The benefits of DAN membership include emergency medical evacuation assistance through DAN TravelAssist®, a subscription to Alert Diver magazine, and access to DAN’s insurance services. DAN Members receive $100,000 of emergency medical evacuation assistance coverage. This benefit is valid for diving and non-diving medical emergencies anytime you travel more than 50 miles from home. Dan members can get medical dive accident coverage, accidental death & dismemberment coverage, and other benefits.
DAN provides accident coverage within the United States and internationally.
Travel Insurance – Comparison Tool (Platinum, Gold & Silver)
Travel insurance offers travelers coverage for unforeseen problems, from a canceled flight to a serious illness—or in rare cases, even an act of terrorism or the financial default of a travel supplier. If an illness, accident, or other covered unforeseen circumstance forces a traveler to cancel or interrupt their travel plans, they face two potentially major financial losses—money invested in nonrefundable pre-payments and medical expenses that, in many instances, may not be covered by health insurance.

Travel Insurance (Evacuation, Medical & More)
Travel Guard Basic Plus is for travelers who want the most comprehensive travel insurance coverage and assistance services, including Adventure Sports coverage. If you are looking for the total package that includes our highest level of medical expense coverage, plus the hospital of your choice, then this is the package for you! Travel Guard Plus is a factor-based-priced plan that covers carrier financial default, as well as trip cancellation due to job loss and other covered work reasons. If you purchase within 21 days of the initial trip deposit, this plan provides a waiver for pre-existing medical conditions. Optional coverages include Cancel for Any Reason and Flight Guard® coverage.
Travel Insurance (Evacuation & Basic Coverage)
Pack-N-Go travel Insurance offers travelers coverage for trip interruption once the trip has started at an affordable price. It does not cover trip cancellation issues arising before the trip begins. These can arise from unforeseen problems, from a canceled flight to a serious illness in transit or storms that require you to evacuate before your scheduled departure. If an illness, accident, or other covered unforeseen circumstance forces a traveler to interrupt their travel plans, they face possible financial losses resulting from unforeseen travel expenses and medical expenses that, in many instances, may not be covered by health insurance.
Travel Insurance
Dan also offers travel insurance for a single trip or on an annual basis. These plans provide travelers coverage for unforeseen problems, from a cancelled flight to a serious illness—or in rare cases, even an act of terrorism or the financial default of a travel supplier. If an illness, accident, or other covered unforeseen circumstance forces a traveler to cancel or interrupt their travel plans, they face two potentially major financial losses—money invested in nonrefundable pre-payments and medical expenses that, in many instances, may not be covered by health insurance.
Equipment Insurance
We are often asked about insurance coverage for your camera equipment. The best way to insure your underwater photo equipment is to get a Personal Effects Floater Policy from the same company that insures your house, condominium, or apartment. These policies, also known as jewelry and art policies, provide a declared value of coverage for each listed item. This is often the cheapest way to insure your photographic equipment. For professional photographers, many associations have insurance coverage programs for their members. Dan also has a broker who can write camera equipment insurance, but be prepared, it is not cheap. You can read more about it here.

Trip Insurance is always recommended as trip price, and availability is subject to change due to changes in taxes, government policies, and airline schedule changes. Full fees are due in full at the time of booking, even if a payment program is offered. Trip insurance is recommended as all deposits are non-refundable unless the trip runs full and a qualified replacement is found.
