Night and Limited Visibility Diving
February 22 @ 10:30 am – 3:00 pm CST
Night & Limited Visibility Diving Specialty

When the sun goes down the fun begins!
Dive Mom loves night diving because the reef is completely different and things look so cool! This program helps give you the confidence and skills for diving at night or in limited visibility (i.e. Texas Lake Diving).
Some of the ocean’s most amazing creatures only come out at night, so your dive doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down. You will learn how to enter and exit the water, use specialized equipment, and communicate and dive with a buddy at night or in limited visibility.
Conveniently located inside the 610 Loop, Oceanic Ventures is the perfect place to train and prepare for your next adventure!.
Enrolling in this program requires only your Open Water or Junior Open Water Certification.

When is this program taught? | The Night and Limited Visibility Specialty may be taken as a stand-alone program or as a part of our Advanced Open Water Diver Program. The course is taught using an on-line component, a short academic session and then a pool session. The program is taught on the last weekend of the month. However, we can set-up a program to fit your schedule. Call Dive Mom for more details and to schedule a program. |
What is the schedule for this program? | You will meet your instructor on Saturday morning to cover the main topics of the on-line materials and to do some land-based Night Diving drills. Then you will move to the pool to review how light handling and then it is off to open waters which is generally the second weekend of the month. |
Who will benefit most from this program? | All divers can benefit from knowing how to use lights and revised signaling for nbight diving effectively. |
What equipment will I need? | Required Equipment beyond Basic System: Your instructor will work with you to determine what is best for your needs and goals (please wait and talk to your instructor prior to purchasing new equipment so you don’t purchase things you may not be able to use in the program). Specifically, you will need a compass (separate or a part of your wrist computer) a reel or spool, and a surface marker buoy. |
Is there a special price for Club Aquarius Members? | Club members receive a discount on the training. |
